A Feeling of Normalcy

Coo coo ka-choo, how do you do?

     Hello, hello! Guess who is on time this week? My glasses arrived and I'm still getting used to the ground being a little closer than it usually is. I'm hoping this'll help with eye strain while crocheting, but I haven't picked up my hook in over a month! There's still a lot on my plate, so bear with me while I take my time picking through it.

     First things first, I have still been working on color schemes and details related to the storefront. I've bounced between making the teal the darkest color to making more purples and blues. I really like the idea of teal, magenta, neon blue, and dark purple being the main four. The problem of readability always comes back as well as grading the colors to not hurt when you see them. I know how annoying bright colors get after only a little while of looking at them! 

     Second, I'm still adding and removing items from my inventory for practicality. One thing I see (or saw at the convention) is people only making one of something. That's so scary! I bought an hand-sewn Espeon plush and nearly walked off without it because it was the display! I'm used to vendors saying "Don't touch!" and handing me one from the back! Either that, or artists warning me that since that's the display, it's the last one and might be faded or dirty! I never really mind, but it would make me feel so nervous to not have the original in terms of handmade crafts. Sometimes I have to cross-reference if I changed a design here or there. For example, differences in shades of blue for a plush like Glaceon. While I was making one for my friend, I started panicking because I couldn't remember if I used "Country Blue", "Royal Blue", or "Peacock."

   Third, pattern testing until the end of time. Speaking of Glaceon, the chibi and regular sizes still need permission to be sold, but I have not practiced the keychain size at all yet. I need to finalize what colors go to what Eeveelution and, by extension, every other plush with specific colors. Items that use yarn that changes its own color are easy, ones using simply softs or one pounds (or combinations of those and others) are more difficult to place. Unless everyone's fine with wildly varying colors on every single item, you'll have to wait for the finalized colorways. 

    To wrap things up, everything store-related this week has been running as it normally does! I have a handful of "real life" obligations taking more attention than usual, but nothing I can't handle. This next week I'll probably do some restocking, so watch for any new variations of the Melon Slice Keychain appearing. I'm not looking forward to jerry-rigging my photo box again, but I'm excited for the future! Now I just have to brace myself and advertise properly...
