Coo coo ka-choo, how do you do?
Hi!! I'm on time today! Guess what I finished over this past weekend? A virus shawl! The first time I saw the pattern, I thought it looked like a trypophobia nightmare. A lot of circles and they're concentric? The horror! I then just sat down and finished it and it's... not bad! I ended up running out of yarn way earlier than I planned, but can you blame me when the motif takes ten double crochets each?
To add some context to the title, I found a Caron cake from who knows how long ago to use for this project. I happened to pick the "Pumpkin Spice" color that includes mostly golds. The pattern happened to look as if I actually changed the colors myself, changing after every 4 rows. If you've ever used primarily caron colors, you'd know they don't really have that many variations of orange. The sample picture has the main part of the pattern repeat around eight times, right? I ran out of yarn somewhere around on the second to last row of the fifth.
I think I'd actually not mind making these to add to my product line up! It took a lot of time, yes, but it's a repetitive pattern with minimal changes. It probably would take less time if I actually trusted myself with counting to ten. I just know from experience messing up the foundation of the motif will make the entire thing wrong. I'd rather double check than undo the whole project... again. Maybe what I'll do is make it using two skeins and just not care about matching the colors too closely.
