Inspiration Everywhere But No Motivation to Speak!

Coo coo ka-choo, how do you do?

     I was melting last week and now I'm frozen solid this week. I love living in the Northeast. I've been going back and forth with myself about buying some Pumpkin Spice K-Cups, arguing that I'm already getting my allotted caffeine through how much Monster I drink. Maybe I'll get settle with melting some fall themed candles. 

    Lately, I've been messing around in Stitch Fiddle since I bit the bullet and got a membership. I've known of the site for a while, but hadn't gone much further than making a couple mock-ups. Now I'm wasting tons of time perfecting silly meme blankets and other possible ideas.

    The first time I used it, I tried out making a grid for Rooney's Amiibo card since he's my favorite villager. Subsequently, I've drafted the product of "Critter Passage Card Blanket" Sets 1-5. I haven't even attempted a blanket, let alone C2C, but I've already added multiple to my product list! Talk about cart before the horse, or kangaroo in this context! x)

    Just yesterday, I spent a couple hours taking Spyro sky boxes and translating them to blanket form. Some came out looking perfectly fine, but most came out as big blobs of inaccurate color. It's awful because they are such nice looking pictures. The limitations of the yarn colors are super obvious when it comes to C2C from pictures.

    Caron One Pound is really limited in the purples and oranges, so a lot of gradients don't look quite right. Their purple is this really saturated magenta looking color, while the purple in the picture is actually a dark lavender. Maybe it's just my monitor's balancing, but I'd hate to be nearly halfway through a giant blanket just for the purple color change to ruin everything.

    Along with these blankets, I've been revisiting making crochet adoptable dolls! I have character prompts I've set aside for crocheted dolls that could be bought and then the person owns the likeness to use as they want. The problem here is I suck at customizing crochet patterns and get overwhelmed with how many I'd have to make. I know they'd probably be popular, but how do I price certain ones? Some are just average humans while others have supernatural powers or are animal hybrids! I have literal deities in here alongside teenagers that just have saturated hair colors! If I can't get the motivation to just draw these characters on a 2D space, how will I put them together with yarn?! 

    I was thinking maybe what I could do is spin a wheel and have all the not magical characters as most of the options. The fancy, powerful characters would be only one or two of the options. A purchase gets a spin on the wheel, leave it up to chance. Is that gambling? Am I just reinventing gambling? People really like those scoop style TikTok marketing vids, why don't I just do those but not a scam this time?

2. Spin lands on a certain box number
3. Reach in and get a ball from the box
4. The character number in the ball is the character the person gets.

     Now I can plan all of this out, but then I get stuck on the tiny details. Do I need to draw these characters first or even at all? How will I make sure someone can access their characters' descriptions out of the giant list of prompts? If I run out of "common"s, how do I balance the "rare"s? What makes a character the tier they are and how many tiers of rarity will there be? How will I make hundreds of custom dolls on top of the work I'm already doing? Where will I safely store these dolls? Agh, we are back to square one.

     I think what I should do first is just make the items I know I can make. No one is going to take my prompts, they can just continue collecting digital dust until I'm ready for them. I need to get this store running before I can make some silly yet extremely time-consuming gimmick. Huh, maybe I do just need to talk myself through stuff instead of getting locked in my head thinking of ideas.
