Coo coo ka-choo, how do you do?
Another pretty uneventful week for me, I've been busy learning shop applications! Just adding them to my store made me nervous, so I have to learn as I go! Hopefully in the future, bundles and sets will be properly set up instead of manually adding them. Other than that, I spent a day or so checking out other crochet shops around the internet. Let's see what we got here...
I'm frequently looking at what is popular in the crocheting sphere of YouTube, but I'm less well acquainted with their actual stores. I didn't realize how many people only sell in person! Going to the stores of some creators I follow, they only have patterns for sale! I suppose it makes sense, since patterns are usually a digital item, and shipping out of the country is probably a pain. But the amount of items they make for their shows and fairs is super impressive!
I used a site probably built for drop shipping bros to search up crochet and got some interesting results. Of course, I had to wade through yarn and hair supply stores, but I found a variety of actual crochet stores! They're so nice! I feel like I didn't customize my website enough, theirs feel truly like a store in the giant shopping mall that is the internet. Like a little personal checkpoint before being tossed back into the rushing ocean of big brand stores. I hope one day my store makes everyone feel that way too!
Seeing all the other stores motivates me to keep improving this one! First things first, more pictures! I have to teach myself to take photos of everything, everywhere! Photos for promos, photos for fun, photos for anything! Second, actually post those pictures somewhere LOL! Guess who launched a month ago and is still afraid of posting pictures on Instagram? x) I get so hung up thinking about if it's good enough to post that I just stall for eternity! Third will be further customization. I need to stay on my cookie-cutter foundation for now and then branch out later. Apologies if in the future you come to the site one day and come back the next to what seems like an entirely different site! I know I'm the type to fiddle around with stuff for a while until I like it, so very sorry in advance!
